2008 Conference

The Third Western Hemisphere Migratory Species Conference was held in Asuncion, Paraguay, July 22-25, 2008, at the Yacht & Golf Paraguay, hosted by the Paraguayan Ministries of Environment and Tourism, and Guyra Paraguay.

2006 Conference
San José, Costa Rica, January 17th-20th, 2006

Under the title “Hands Across the Hemisphere: Helping People to Help Wildlife”, this second WHMSI Conference gathered 30 countries and 50 NGOS – more than a hundred people, among them government and non-governmental officials and volunteers and people from the private sector.

The representatives of 25 countries of the Western Hemisphere met in order to develop cooperative strategies for the conservation of migratory species. The purpose of the conference focused on developing an strategy that will point out which are the bird conservation priorities, as well as other migratory species, for the Hemisphere.
